Privacy questions or requests? To help prevent spam and protect our communication channels, RXA handles privacy inquiries through our Contact page. Select Privacy Request so we can direct your message appropriately. No account is required.
RXA is an independent culture publication operated by The RXA Corporation, based in Los Angeles, California. This policy explains how we handle information connected with rxadiet.com, subscriptions, editorial submissions, and business communications.
Information you provide
You may provide personal information when you subscribe, contact us, submit a pitch, answer interview questions, or discuss advertising and other business matters.
This can include your name, email address, social media handle, professional details, and the contents of your messages or submissions.
We use this information to respond, deliver requested communications, consider material for publication, conduct editorial work, and manage business relationships. Sending a message or pitch does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.
Please do not send passwords, payment-card information, identification documents, or other sensitive records through ordinary contact forms.
Information connected with visiting RXA
Delivering and protecting a website involves processing technical information. Depending on the services involved, this can include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring pages, and the time of a request.
Our hosting and operational providers may process this information to deliver pages, maintain logs, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and secure the site.
Cookies and embedded content
Cookies and similar technologies may support features and services you use. Your browser allows you to manage or delete cookies, although blocking them can affect some functions.
Articles may contain embedded music, video, or social media posts. Embedded content can connect your browser with its provider, which may process information under its own privacy policy. Being signed into that provider may affect the information it receives.
External websites operate under their own policies. Review those policies before providing personal information.
Email subscriptions
When you subscribe, we use your email address to send the communications described at signup.
You can unsubscribe using the link in a subscription email or through our Contact page. We may retain a limited suppression record to avoid sending further marketing emails to an unsubscribed address.
We may still respond to inquiries you send or communicate about an existing editorial or business matter.
Advertising
RXA places its own banner advertisements on the site. These banners may promote businesses under common ownership with The RXA Corporation.
Following a banner takes you to the advertised business's website. That business's privacy policy governs information collected there.
Displaying an advertisement does not, by itself, require disclosure of our subscriber list or private editorial correspondence to the advertised business. Common ownership does not create unrestricted permission to share personal information.
Any additional collection or sharing introduced through advertising technology must be reflected in this policy and the site's privacy controls before that technology is used.
Editorial correspondence and submissions
We use pitches, interview responses, photographs, biographies, and other submitted material to evaluate and develop coverage.
Information supplied for publication may appear in articles, interviews, captions, or credits. Published material may be indexed by search engines or copied by others beyond our control.
An unsolicited message does not automatically create a confidential or off-the-record relationship. Obtain an express agreement before sending material that requires confidential treatment. We honor confidentiality commitments according to their terms and applicable law.
Requests concerning published journalism are assessed in light of applicable privacy rights, freedom of expression, editorial obligations, and other relevant protections. A privacy request does not automatically require removal of an article.
When information may be disclosed
Relevant information may be available to RXA personnel, contributors, contractors, and providers who need it for their work. This can include hosting, security, email delivery, and legal or accounting services.
We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect people or systems, enforce rights, or establish or defend a legal claim.
Information may also be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the publication or its assets, subject to applicable law.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose. Relevant considerations include ongoing subscriptions, editorial records, business obligations, security, disputes, and legal retention requirements.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to our operations. No website, transmission method, or storage system guarantees complete security.
Privacy requests and choices
Use our Contact page and select Privacy Request to ask about personal information RXA holds about you or request access, correction, or deletion.
Your legal rights depend on your location, the information involved, and the laws applicable to RXA. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, or legitimate editorial reasons.
We may request proportionate information to verify your identity. Do not send identification documents unless we specifically request them through an appropriate method.
Where applicable law requires a response deadline, an explanation of a refusal, or an appeal process, we will follow those requirements. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy regulator responsible for your location.
Children
RXA is a general-audience culture publication and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through the Privacy Request option so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. The date above identifies the latest revision.
